As title says, after login its blank. There are none feeds. If I try to add new one, it says success and then nothing. Does it take 10 years to sync or what?

Ok, you don't need the features of Google Reader and then start such a thread here with a negative habit!?

If you want a RSS reader only get happy with Opera or whatever but don't blame us here creating a free(!) and open source(!) client with much more possibilities...

You might be surprised that most people love and need syncing.

Finally I can write RSS by hand in any text editor since the first versions have been released of those specs back in the 90s!

I don't want to "use it in the browser"
I don't have "Mac/iPhone".

I just wasted my time and 22 MB bandwitdh trying something that doesn't even understand the basic concept of RSS feeds.

Anyway, I have removed feeddemon and have now settled with Opera Pro that does exactly what I wanted an offline newreader to do. And it doesn't require singing in.

Dig a deep hole and throw your google desktop reader in that. Signing in, uh.

We don't need any account to get and read RSS feeds.

Why exactly then google desktop reader makes it compulsory for users to sign in?

I simultaneously downloaded and installed FeedDemon, that didn't ask me to sign in. thunderbird RSS parts also works well without signing in.

so much time and 22 MB downloading got wasted. What a foolish concept you guys have. Shame on you. Are you spying on users or what?

I know the arrow keys can be used to change between articles. But I would like a keyboard method to scroll through an article that takes up more than one screen. Can you set a "focus" on the individual sub-windows, so the arrow behaviour changes depending on which area was last clicked?

While the "Sort by Alphabetical order" works well, I have a lot of feeds that update at random intervals, so the old system (that was in place until 1.4.3) was better suited for my needs.

Could it be possible to implement a checkbox or similar in the settings to turn on and off the "sort by alphabetical order", so that the latest updated feeds appear at the bottom of the feed list yet again.

Other than that, this is the best RSS reader that I've found and I'm happy to be able to use it.

By Feed in the main GUI of reader, the ability to disable sending notifications for individual feeds.

Have some feeds pushing 100 items at a time. (Web Deals, new products) at a time. This send sends 100 notifications to snarl, that then crashes snarl..

You can argue that snarl issue, but really I don't want 100s of notifications snarl provides only the ability to disable the entire app from notifications.

Another option is to add a line item in snarl by feed to allow disable there..

There are some feeds that I want to see the 5 per day updates and others I just want to see the index (100s), but don't what the 100's of notifications and my 5 important per day inside the onslot of desktop notifications.

This app is so awesome! The only thing I'd like to request is more keyboard shortcuts. I'm an old-school guy. Don't like using a mouse, and prefer keystrokes. I love that when I hit Tab, it opens the page. I'd love to have a key to mark a feed read; so I can move onto the next one.

OK, so I uninstalled the previous version and then installed and run the new version.

Now on the login window I get a message in Polish "Nie można połączyć się z serwerem zdalnym", which means "It isn't possible to connect with a proxy server".

What am I supposed to do?

I'm a bit surprised - a few hours ago the app logged in (with the same access data as before.. they were surely proper) and worked, but now the problem has come back - again I see "Login failed, try again".

When it comes to a firewall, I use ZoneAlarm - without any special settings. I don't know anything about proxies.

I can login to my Google account - including Gmail and Reader - via Internet Explorer without any problem.

So I would be grateful for sending me this testing version. Do you need my e-mail address?

First of all (just to be sure): you entered both your complete Google login (including the @gmail.com) as well as the right password? (I know this question might sound odd).

Second are there any firewalls and/or proxys between you and Google Reader. Can you open the Internet Explorer and login there (I am asking for the IE as it uses the gernael proxy settings of Windows).

If both doesn't help I could provide a small testing version which will give more info about the reason (hm, or I should add this ouput in general)

Hello,

I can't log into the app.

On the dialog box I still see the message: "Login failed, try again".

Any idea, how to cope with this situation?

I would be grateful for help - DGR seems to be a really useful app for me..
